Dr Sebastian Leathersich

Dr Sebastian Leathersich is passionate about IVF, fertility care and helping his patients achieve their dream of having a family.

Dr Sebastian Leathersich works primarily in: 

• IVF and fertility care 

• Gynaecology 

• Reproductive endocrinology 

He received his medical degree with Honours from the University of Western Australia in 2014. Passionate, Dr Leathersich pursued further studies overseas and was awarded First Class Honours for his thesis at the McGill University Health Centre in Montreal. He then completed a maternal and perinatal health internship with the World Health Organisation in Geneva. As a junior doctor, he received his master’s degrees in public health and health management, both conferred with Excellence. 

He completed his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at King Edward Memorial Hospital and was awarded the medal for the highest mark in the written Fellowship examinations across Australia and New Zealand. He has also received the Camille Michener Award for Registrar of the Year and the David Liu and Tony McCartney prizes for his research. 

Dr Leathersich is committed to providing evidence-based care to all of his patients with compassion and expertise. He is also dedicated to the fertility care and treatment of the LGBTI+ community, supporting them with the utmost care throughout their fertility journey and pregnancy. 

Already a specialist gynaecologist, fertility specialist and obstetrician, Dr Leathersich is undertaking the advanced subspecialist Certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI) under the mentorship of Professor Roger Hart, National Medical Director of City Fertility. In Perth, he works at King Edward Memorial Hospital, the Perth Children’s Hospital, and Fertility Specialists of WA in Claremont. He also works in Spain at Dexeus Fertility, Barcelona, and is currently completing a PhD at the University of Barcelona.
